Economist and health services
administrator, he is nowadays president
of his own company specializing in
economic studies and statistical
analysis. Since 1994 he has gained
recognition in the areas of economic and
market evaluation, both in the government
and the private sector. Previous to his
more recent endeavors, he helped to
establish and direct San Juan Bautista
Medical Center, a privatized hospital in
the municipality of Caguas. There he also
documented the feasibility of
establishing a dialysis center and a
nuclear medicine facility.

Soon after the first frustrated
attempt by the government to privatize
the Aguadilla Sub Regional Hospital, the
Puerto Rico Department of Health
commissioned his professional services
for a year to stabilize the institution's
daily operations before turning the
hospital back to private hands. His
managerial experiences in the health care
in Puerto Rico and "Fortune
100" consumer product companies in
the United States
have endowed him with real experiences in
medium and large companies that prosper
against the financial adversities of
present times. The experience of dealing
with the reality of day to day economic
activities allows Mr. Santiago to produce
close to reality analysis that better
portray the present and what might be
about to happen in the near future of
companies.
PJ Santiago graduated from the UPR, ISU
and USC. He completed his baccalaureate
in economics at the University of Puerto
Rico, soon to continue to his M.S. degree
in economics at Illinois State
University. After several years in
various managerial positions in the
United States, he received a postgraduate
degree in health care administration at
the University of Southern California.
Subsequently he returned to Puerto Rico
to continue his professional career.
His clients include well settled large
firms as well as new startups, large
trade associations as well as small ones.
Pedro J. Santiago has served with
skillful ability in multiple cases to
prove or to refute economic and market
studies. He has authored more than sixty
economic studies in different industries.
He is a regular contributor of economic
and business articles to the monthly
magazine of the largest trade
associastion in the Island, Centro Unido
de Detallistas, serving over 18,000
members.
